a11 Dec 2011

On the 7th of December, 2011, Knesset member Einat Wilf called for the motion for the Knesset Agenda on “The State of Israel’s Education and Its Implications” on the basis of the Taub Center report of the same name which was published at the end of October.  MK Wilf quoted large portions of the Taub Center report aloud to the Knesset and called for discussion and root cause treatment of the subject of education in Israel. In addition, MK Wilf related to the study by Yossi Shavit and Carmel Blank of the Taub Center on the relationship between school discipline and school achievement.

In light of the motion the Minister of Education had to give a detailed response to the two studies of the Taub Center. After the discussion, the subject was transferred to the Education Committee of the Knesset for further consideration.
