There were meetings held this month with international representatives, including a delegation from the IMF and a delegation of 18 individuals from the southwest German state Rhineland Palatinate, including the President and Education Minister. The members of the IMF delegation, who arrived to write a report on Israel, heard about Israel’s economic growth, the rapid rate of population increase, the labor market, and the education system from Taub Center researchers Prof. Benjamin Bental, Prof. Weinreb, and Nachum Blass. The members of the delegation were very interested in the data that were presented and asked to have a follow-up meeting in a few months.
The delegation from Germany met with Prof. Avi Weiss and Nachum Blass and heard about education and Israeli society, including the effects of migration, the “four tribes” in Israel, changes in Arab education, and changes in the education system over time.
