Taub Center President Prof. Avi Weiss and Executive Director Nir Kaidar met with members of the Economic and Strategy Division of the Ministry of Construction and Housing. They presented to the ministry senior staff selections from the State of the Nation Report.
Prof. Weiss spoke about a number of issues, among them the influence of the economic situation of families with young children on their success later in life; demographic changes in Israel and their influence on housing — an important subject that should be considered in housing planning. He also raised the issue of prices in Israel, which are 30% higher on average than in countries in the Euro Area, and explained that the solution requires opening markets and increasing competition.
