Dr. Sarit Silverman, a Taub Center Senior Researcher, participated in discussions this month held at the Chinese Embassy in Israel on the subject of motherhood and the labor market. In light of China’s low birth rate and its impact on the labor market and the economy of the country, the Chinese would like to learn about the subject and the Israeli paradigm. In the discussions, Dr. Silverman presented data on birth rate, maternity leave, and mother’s rights, as well as data on women’s participation rates in the labor market and the participation rate of children in early childhood education and care frameworks.
