In a letter to the Minister of Welfare and Social Affairs, Ya’akov Margi, and the Minister of Health and the Interior, Moshe Arbel, members of the National Scientific Advisory Committee to the National Council for Food Security came out against the current government proposal for the distribution of food stamps. In their letter, they quoted a Taub Center study that was published this month, where it was found that the distribution of food stamps in 2021 improved the situation of Haredi households but did not benefit families in Arab society who are living below the poverty line.
