Baruch Levi

Visiting Researcher

Dr. Baruch Levi is a postdoctoral fellow and a teaching fellow in the Department of Health Policy and Management at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. His studies engage with different subjects of health policy, such as the organization of health services, quality measurement, and healthcare leadership.

Dr. Levi holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and international relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a master’s degree and a PhD in political science from Tel Aviv University. His doctoral dissertation discusses the reaction of the medical profession in Israel to neoliberal policies in the healthcare system, such as budgetary restraint, service rationing, and performance measurement.

In addition, Dr. Levi heads the research unit of the Israeli Medical Association. As part of his work, he prepares articles, reviews, international comparisons, and position papers on a variety of health policy issues, such as funding of public health services, medical workforce planning, and health inequality.
