Senior Researcher

Dr. Rakefet Shafran-Nathan is a Senior Researcher in the Taub Center Research and Policy Initiative for Environment and Health. She holds a first degree in geology and environmental sciences from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and a second degree and doctorate from the Environmental, Geoinformatics and Urban Planning Sciences Department, Ben-Gurion University. Her doctorate dealt with calculating ecological and spatial hydrological models and remote sensing. For the past decade she has been working as a researcher in the Technion Center of Excellence in Exposure Science and Environmental Health (TCEEH) in the Department of Environmental Engineering and Water Resources. Her research focuses on advanced models of air pollution, monitoring air pollution by means of mobile sensory networks and exposure to heat stress in urban environments as a result of climate change.
