The Taub Center and the President’s Residence have for many years had a deep relationship with on-going meetings with the President and his professional staff. In the meetings, Taub Center representatives present research and Center products, like the annual State of the Nation Report, to the staff for use in their work.
Since 2009, there have been about 20 events and meetings at the President’s Residence including with the director general of the President’s Residence, advisers in various areas, as well as with the President. In addition, in the past few years, President Herzog has sent letters and a video noting the importance of the research done at the Taub Center.

In his greetings, President Herzog says: “Your research focuses on all the core challenges facing the State of Israel and Israeli society including economic disparities, poverty, and societal security… In the polarized Israeli reality where too many tend to examine every policy measure according to political and sectoral benefits there is great value to be had from a non-partisan research institute, that conducts independent studies to improve the lives of Israeli citizens… I thank you and would like to pay tribute to your thorough work, which makes an important contribution to illuminating the social and economic trends in Israel.”
2022, 2023: Meetings of senior Taub Center staff with Eyal Shviki, Director General of the President’s Residence, and the presentation of the State of the Nation Report
In a meeting in 2022, Eyal Shviki, Director General of the President’s Residence said: “The Taub Center is an esteemed research institute whose important research time and again raises the most burning issues in Israeli society. The President’s Residence has maintained continuous contact with the Taub Center, and we are grateful for the productive cooperation with you.”
August 2018: Prof. Avi Weiss, Taub Center President, Suzie Patt Benvenisti, Taub Center Director General and Prof. John Gal, Chair of the Taub Center Welfare Policy Program, present the State of the Nation Report to Mr. Reuven Rivlin, President of the Israel
President Rivlin said in this meeting (among other things): “Your work at the Taub Center essentially examines the areas that most impact the daily lives of citizens other than security. I read the annual report of the Taub Center with great interest; you do such important work that assists everyone who needs information in these areas. Congratulations.”
