At the beginning of the month, Prof. Alex Weinreb, Taub Center Research Director and Chair of the Demography Area, met with senior officials from the Hungarian Embassy and other government members. The meeting dealt with issues of demography and fertility in Israel. Prof. Weinreb presented demographic data broken down by population groups and level of education and explained that one of the central factors for high fertility rates is social norms.
