At a meeting of the Knesset Special Committee on Arab Society, Prof. Benjamin Bental, Chair of the Economics Policy Program at the Taub Center, presented the current challenges facing Israel’s Arab population in areas such as education and the labor market.
In particular, Prof. Bental highlighted the discrepancies between Arab and Jewish academic outcomes, including in matriculation qualification
About two-thirds of the twelfth-graders from the Arab population are entitled to a matriculation certificate, compared with 80% among Jews. This creates a significant and problematic discrepancy for later integration into high-income jobs and positions - Prof. Benjamin Bental
