Taub Center Director General Nir Kaidar met with Brigadier General Ophir Levios, head of the Education and Youth Corps in the IDF, to give him a taste of the Center’s research and data in the area of education. Mr. Kaidar spoke about social mobility and the impact of COVID-19 on youth. He also presented data on poverty and discussed the Center’s work on early childhood education and care and its implications for policy. “There are a great many changes now,” remarked Kaidar. “In the past, it was important to talk about programs, but today it is more important to talk about abilities. Today we must improve our ability to respond to changing realities, whether in the field of education, when we need to teach and learn by Zoom, or in the labor force, where we need to develop flexibility to changing labor environments.” Brigadier General Levios was impressed by the data and interested in additional Taub Center research. He added that the IDF and the Education Corps make use of the Center’s research.
