After publishing a study on the connection between parental stress and young children’s screen use during the pandemic, the Taub Center’s Early Childhood research team met with members of Israel’s Ministry of Health to discuss the study’s findings and ways to improve family health.
In a survey we conducted, 66% of respondents in the first COVID-19 lockdown stated that they had lost some income. Children were not in childcare, leaving parents to find a solution for the children at home an additional 40 hours a week. These circumstances have the potential to increase parents’ stress, and we found that on average as the level of parental stress was higher, so was the level of their children’s exposure to screens - Yael Navon
